My daughter, Lucy -- 3 and half at the time, was in China for 9 months last year. On a drawing class in the finest kindergarden school in Ningbo, her teacher was teaching students to draw a tree. The teacher demonstrated with a two-leaf tree, and Lucy draw a tree with one leaf. Here is the conversation:
teacher: why did you draw only one leaf, it's two leaves.
Lucy: I think one leaf looks better.
teacher: lucy, it's a two-leaf tree.
Lucy: I don't want to draw a two-leaf tree.
