is getting better now. I heard all the text
matertials are getting more and more practical.
I have a friend who follows the college entrance
exam every year. She said the tests now are much
more creative.
One test she mentioned very interesting is that:
If you are close to south pole and you need to build
a house, at which direction you will build the door?
(I forgot the right anwser. I assume it's facing
south, since that direct should have less wind.)
As for the national exam, I think it's very good
for China, since that's the only OBJECTIVE way
to choose the top students. If we follow the approach
used in American(i.e. giving credits to extra-curriculum
activities), I'm sure people with money/power can
play tricks with those things. All the people in
poor area will for sure have disadvantage.
Actually, I think people in education should look at
Taiwan also. I'm sure Taiwannese spent a lot of efforts
in these thinking already.
And also, the class size is much smaller in USA.
With big class size, it's hard for teacher to get
creative.
