Product Manager
Position Description:
ES MDU is looking for a Senior Product Manager for its ODM Stream located being built up in Beijing.
Product Manager acts as a key interface between marketing and sales, R&D, and external suppliers in case of ODM projects. PM is responsible for ensuring his product conforms and/or exceeds the expections of its target customers (enterprise customers and operators). PM is responsible for that collected local customer requirements are included creation and management of whole product identity, transforming that to product concepts’ design, mechanics, features, and total product offering requirements together with ODM vendor product management.
Key task of PM is to transfer target customer understanding and relevant marketing insight into well-defined and successfully implemented and launched product, complemented with appropriate marketing messaging and partner solutions.
PM main responsibility areas include:
- Product positioning together with global PM, roadmapping, and external suppliers
- Product concept management together with external supplier OM
o Concepting
o Design
o Mechanics
o Features and applications
o Collaborate solutions
o Total Product Offering
- Ensuring that product will exceed or conform to target market requirements and expectations
o Scanning and analyzing market requirements
o Requirements prioritization and further analysis together with feature roadmappiong, and balancing requirements with implementation capabilities
- Ensuring that Product launch together with Product Launch Manager and Area organizations
- Act as his/her product’s key marketing communications point within Greater China, both internally and externally
o Ensure availability of marketing content
o Contribute to marketing materials as needed
o Contribute to product launch to support Launch Manager and Area organizations.
- Provide Area sales organizations support prior and after product launch
Requirements:
General: In-depth understanding and knowledge of Chinese communications and enterprise markets. Understanding/competence of Chinese culture, society and language mandatory, and excellent English language skills are mandatory requirements. Experience in product management and especially ODM projects are benefits in this position.
A highly potential candidate applies knowledge/skills to a range of activities； acts as a source of marketing and/or business expertise to others in own area. Proactively acts to understand client needs and offer assistance even when not asked. Interprets internal/external business issues and recommended best practice in own discipline； makes changes to own and others work to meet these.
As an Individual Contributor: Performs and/or coordinates day-to-day activities to meet departmental/ Project objectives. Carries our root/cause analysis in more complex problems. Can develop and implement recommendations. Can maintain customer-focused view when dealing with complex isssues.
As a teamworker: Excellent communication and cooperation skills. Enjoys carrying out out variety of complex activities according to plan together with different people. Within broader areas seeks and involves appropriate decision makers to gain commitment. Analyses problems and enforces marketing contexts and market requirements into decision-making.
Experience
Typically 4-8 years of relevant experience. Key contributor, recognised performer. Accepts responsibility for, and demonstrates support for, delegated decisions. Requires little supervision. Uses out-of-the-box approaches to resolving issues. Suggests improvements and seeks opportunities for innovation.
