Requirements capture and analysis, especially for non-functional requirements.
Define pragmatic solution architectures for team projects documenting them in Project Implementation Architecture documents and technical notes, working through the normal Company Proposition Delivery project process and engaging technical governance when necessary.
Become a member of the architecture team, providing architectural solutions for system enhancements and extensions.
Engaging with the development teams, helping them understand the architecture and soliciting feedback from them. Participating in review sessions for internal governance.
Participate in global teams. Occasional travel will be required, and a flexible approach to working hours needed to permit communication across time zones.
Act as a contact point and gateway to other Company technologists, keeping abreast of enterprise strategies and identifying the impact within the team domain.


Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
5-7 years professional experiance in multiple development and architectural areas (application engineering, software architecture, networking, etc)

Abilities:
- Critical importance is the ability to bridge the gap between business needs/direction and the possibilities and constraints surrounding technical implementation. Able to bring experience and innovative thinking to this area.
- Ability to lead through influence, managing and facilitating change.
- Ability to work as part of a number of global project teams providing key technical architectural direction
- Ability to think conceptually, and pragmatically to determine feasible solutions for implementation
- Ability to analyse, visualise, abstract and communicate complex interdependent concepts
- Ability to assist business stakeholders derive and prioritise their requirements


Talents:
- Self motivated and driven, able to work both independently and in collaboration with other technologists at all levels
- Comfortable working day to day with colleagues in other time zones and locations using a number of tools (email, phone, instant messenger, WebEx, etc)

Skills:
- Fluent in English, both written and speaking
- Excellent communication skills, especially across cultures and language barriers. Ability to translate complex concepts an communicate in terms understandable to technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead groups, negotiate and create consensus.
- Strong analytical and architectural skills, ability to manage complexity and to simplify for explanation to others
- Solution architecture skills, with the ability to define cohesive solution architectures
- Analysis skills, with a background as a practitioner.
- Practical experience with the following technologies: Web Services (SOAP, xml, WSDL), J2EE, Tibco EMS, IBM WebSphere, Windows, C++


Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:

- Knowledge of financial markets and of Company's Markets products is highly desirable
- Ability to act as a mentor to less experienced staff
- Ability to iteratively define a solution through influence and negotiation with business, technical and operational stakeholders
- vendor management skills in reference to dealing with our suppliers
- Ability to conduct RFI/RFPs and technology selection exercises as required
