IT’S NOT A BUBBLE… OR IS IT?: The
Chinese internet these days has been overrun by
semi-comic reports concerning the expensiveness of
homeownership in the major cities of the country.
According to one of the comical, but truthful, blogs that
is quite popular these days, housing is so expensive in
Beijing that it will take the average Chinese peasant,
working for the average “peasant’s” wage there in the
city, eleven hundred years to buy an average 100
square metre “apartment” in the centre city. Or, as the
blog noted, if the average wage “peasant” had begun
working at the time of the Tang Dynasty back in the
early 10th century and had kept his/her nose to the
proverbial grindstone he’d be just about ready to step
up to buy.
Better than a peasant? Well, this same blog notes that
if the average Beijing blue collar worker had begun
working at the time of the Opium Wars back in the 19th
century, and had worked through the weekends too, he
or she would be just about ready to buy that same
apartment… a much better working condition than the
poor peasant, for rather than working a thousand
years, the blue-collar worker only had to work a little
over 170 years… Piece ‘a cake!
Or let’s consider the plight of the average prostitute
working the streets of Beijing these days. The blog
notes that the prostitute with a strong entrepreneurial
bent, intent upon owning a home, must needs
“pleasure” a mere 10,000 clients to buy that same
small apartment in centre Beijing. Wilt Chamberlain is
dead, so he’s not available as a client, but there is
hope that Charlie Sheen will soon be released from rehab
and might be available to help. Or a thief? How
hard would the average thief, working the second
floors of Beijing’s homes and hotels, have to work
before he could own this same apartment? This same
blog notes that if the average thief got the average
“take” from the average job he’d need to do 2500 “jobs”
to buy this apartment… that’s a robbery a night for 6.85
years!... and he’s not even begun to pay for his current
lifestyle; that comes later.
个人认为以CNY计价,没有泡沫。
